Key findings



  • Swiss employers remain optimistic for the third quarter of 2023: with a Net Employment Outlook of 26%, Switzerland exceeds the average expectations of the economic region Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) by 6 percentage points.

  • All nine economic sectors report a positive outlook, with the highest hiring intentions in the Energy and Utilities and Transport, Logistics and Automotive sectors.

  • Three quarters of Swiss companies say they are hiring for “green jobs” or are looking for “green skills”.

  • 38% of Swiss companies declare that they already use AI tools in their recruitment process or will introduce them in the next 12 months. More than half of the respondents expect significant positive impacts from the implementation of such technologies in business processes.

Every quarter, the ManpowerGroup Employment Outlook Survey determines companies' forecasts for staffing levels in the coming quarter. Internationally, ManpowerGroup surveys approximately 40000 employers in 40 countries. In Switzerland, the national survey is conducted by Right Management Consultants. More than 500 employers from various industries were surveyed.
